An aerobics instructor lead, motivate and educate individuals or groups in fitness aerobics exercise. Working as a fitness instructor is not only a fabulous way to stay in shape, but also a wonderful opportunity to have fun, meet new people and make a living. To become an aerobics instructor one must be physically fit, has excellent communication and people skills, and have general knowledge of physical fitness. Having a certified CPR background or first aid, as well as NESTA Certification is preferred, although some places will hire based on experience alone.
In obtaining certification in aerobics, you will learn to identify security methods to prevent injuries, heat and cool moves, different types of aerobic exercise and its various levels, the importance of good posture, the last and most coveted forms of aerobic and dance moves and how to use the methods of pre-listening effectively in terms of verbal and visual commands. Student aerobics choreography will learn many different routines in time.
An aerobics instructor is likely to work part time hours and more often at night or weekends, as most people work during daylight hours. An aerobics instructor will find employment in health clubs, fitness centres, or other fitness facilities.
The salary of a part-time aerobics instructor varies as to what type of facilities used and what state you work. Many aerobics instructors have a couple of part-time jobs in order to obtain a full-time program. Some instructors may even have private clients, where the instruction is done at home or the client's home. Some fitness instructors may want to take on their knowledge and make a career out of physical fitness just a step further and consider personal training or become a personal trainer, which offers an even higher rate of pay and more opportunities for advancement in the fitness industry.
