Examination Certified Computer Forensics Examiner (CCFE) is provided by the Information Assurance Certification Review Board (IACRB) and assesses the candidate's knowledge about computer forensics and analysis process, focusing on the possibility of a practice of forensic computer investigation, analysis and report procedure.

Candidates for computer forensics certificate must pass a multiple choice exam online, which covers nine areas of knowledge, including tools for computer forensic investigations, file systems, analysis of evidence, and report writing. After passing the written exam, practical work must be completed where the applicant has 60 days to conduct a forensic analysis of any computer and write a report on the technical flaws and relevant information from this computer.
