Alfino, Mark

Introduction: Originally from the East coast, I studied philosophy at The University of Texas at Austin in the 1980s and have worked at Gonzaga since 1989. I am married and have two adult sons, Christopher and Nicholas. I have taught a wide range of philosophical topics, especially focusing on practical philosophy, including ethics, happiness, and wisdom. Currently, I am working on topics in Philosphy of Culture and the nature of food.

Pavlik, Mackenzie

Introduction: Having grown up in drought-stricken New Mexico, I sought water and headed to the Northwest for college. I have spent my college summers working in Southeast Alaska as a zipline guide 150 feet above a rainforest sanctuary where I often saw black bears. I am a Public Relations major and Art minor. I hope to work for an outdoors company promoting health and wellness by traveling in the outdoors. I have two brothers. My older brother teaches English in Prague, Czech Republic and my younger brother is a student at Santa Cruz. My parents hold down the fort at home in New Mexico.

Joyce, Nick

Introduction: I was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington and lived there my entire life until I headed to Gonzaga in 2012. Currently, I'm pursuing a major in Broadcasting and a minor in Journalism. My goal is to one day work in televison or to do some type of work with videography. I have a younger brother at WSU, a younger sister in high school and two awesome parents back at home.
