Alfino, Mark
Introduction: Originally from the East coast, I studied philosophy at The University of Texas at Austin in the 1980s and have worked at Gonzaga since 1989. I am married and have two adult sons, Christopher and Nicholas. I have taught a wide range of philosophical topics, especially focusing on practical philosophy, including ethics, happiness, and wisdom. Currently, I am working on topics in Philosphy of Culture and the nature of food.
Pavlik, Mackenzie
Introduction: Having grown up in drought-stricken New Mexico, I sought water and headed to the Northwest for college. I have spent my college summers working in Southeast Alaska as a zipline guide 150 feet above a rainforest sanctuary where I often saw black bears. I am a Public Relations major and Art minor. I hope to work for an outdoors company promoting health and wellness by traveling in the outdoors. I have two brothers. My older brother teaches English in Prague, Czech Republic and my younger brother is a student at Santa Cruz. My parents hold down the fort at home in New Mexico.
Joyce, Nick
Introduction: I was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington and lived there my entire life until I headed to Gonzaga in 2012. Currently, I'm pursuing a major in Broadcasting and a minor in Journalism. My goal is to one day work in televison or to do some type of work with videography. I have a younger brother at WSU, a younger sister in high school and two awesome parents back at home.
Solders, Kirsten
Introduction: I was born and raised in Issaquah, Washington, and have lived there my entire life until I came to school at Gonzaga after graduating highschool. I am a Senior pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and am hoping to graduate next spring. I am an only child and have one dog, whose name is Sola. My goal is to travel after graduation and begin my career next fall, and ideally I could like to find a job where I can learning how to design.
Couron, Claire
Introduction: I was born in San Diego, and have lived there my whole childhood. I studied abroad in Florence last fall, and I hope to continue to travel more throughout my life. This summer I worked as a reading tutor for elementary aged kids. I enjoy working with kids because even though it can be stressful, it can also be really fun and rewarding. I'm majoring in Sociology, and minoring in Psychology. My plan after undergrad is to get my elementary teaching credential, and work in a public school.
Manca, Molly
Introduction: I was born in Seattle where I have lived my whole life. I have a younger brother attending the University of Washington and another that will be a senior at Bishop Blanchet high school in Seattle. I am a Finance and Marketing major, and am excited to say that I will be graduating in the spring. I hope to work for an investment firm after graduation and get a chance to travel as well.
Cooke, Taylor
Introduction: I was raised in Bellevue, Washington. I have lived there my entire life until I just recently moved to Auburn, Washington this summer. I am majoring in Sociology with a Psychology minor. I have a passion for kids and am therefore, pursuing a Masters in Teaching following graduation. I hope to teach elementary kids at an inner city school. Besides working with kids, I love to play sports, hike, and be active outside!
Allie Nichols
Introduction: I am from Redmond, WA and have lived there the majority of my life. I am studying Civil Engineering and am interested in water resources. Post graduation I would like adventure for a little while before settling down and getting a job. This summer I interned with an environmental consulting firm and learned a lot, I also spent most weekends outside hiking with friends and family - the highlight was hiking the Enchantments in a day!
