Good luck on your research paper.  Regarding plans for accommodating the increasing student population, I offer the below information:

1.      The president has decided to increase enrollment by 25 per semester this fall, and R16;probablyR17; the following falls through 2012.
 +

a.      This growth plan may increase or decrease or even cease in the future, which will change current R20;plansR21;
 +
 +
2.      At an increase of 25 freshmen per year, we will not need another residence hall facility on campus ready for occupancy until fall 2011.  Design is currently underway to prepare to build an under division residence complex on the soccer field by CM.  Construction may start as soon as spring 2010, if enrollment growth is scheduled to continue at that time

3.      This growth gradually makes it to juniors and senior classes like small waves.  To keep up with the increasing class sizes of the third and fourth year students who do not have to live on campus, we have spent millions of dollars constructing Kennedy Apts, phase 1 and 2 which add to Corkery Apts. in our capacity to serve that demand in what we call our R20;optionalR21; market: those students who have an option to live off campus, but choose to stay on campus.  This construction has positioned GU to have a larger percentage of beds reserved for upper division (as a percentage of the class sizes in juniors and seniors) in our over 100 year history.

This is an article written in 2003 by a Gonzaga Student. It's main focus is how the student population has grown over the years causing GU officials to find alternative methods for deciding on housing. Zandra talks about how many students at GU feel that they are entitiled to on campus housing for all four years even though they haven't been promised this. It focuses on the struggle that Gonzaga faces to accomodate more students while still maintaining the small community atmosphere it is known for.
