To a degree we should support troops but not to where we are protesting unethically to make a political point and sacrificing the troops moral.

The author writes about anti-abortion protesters that engaged in disruptive behavior like blocking clinical doors. The case ends up in the Supreme Court but the ruling cannot prosecute the protesters. Protesters did not commit extortion though they cause disruption and obstruction.
